Standing On A Chair

Telling it like I see it…

I’m usually the one who says out loud what others won’t…after which the fall-out can be a bitch.  Along with the exhilaration of speaking a hard truth, comes a lot of pissed-off people in the aftermath.  I stay in trouble.  The fear of people thinking badly of me is always there, but I choose to use that as a motivator, not an inhibitor.

In the interest of embracing this affliction instead of regretting it, I’ve decided to create a blog which does just that—says what others won’t say.

My title comes from the teachings of my first shrink, who suggested that when I feel frightened, intimidated or too weak to speak up, I should stand on a chair, and therefore be empowered as I look down, facing my no- longer-formidable subject.  The problem was, I married that shrink, and when one day I pulled up a chair on him, he became enraged.  But that’s a story to be saved for a later date.

I will be writing about a number of topics; actually, the list is endless.  Among them are:

  1. Blow Jobs
  2. Sleeping with the Boss
  3. Infidelity
  4. Lending Money to a Lover
  5. Menopause, Erectile Dysfunction and the Shrinking Libido
  6. Moving in with Mother
  7. Faking Orgasms
  8. Cocaine
  9. Teen Sex
  10. Adolescent Daughters
  11. Marrying Your Shrink
  12. Big Brothers
  13. Flight Attendant Rage

For those who are faint of heart, I do not recommend your perusal.  For the rest of you out there who are interested, I now stand before you…on my chair, telling it like I see it,  with humor and complete honesty.
